The SONY  AIT tape drives still have a large market share in the backup world.  From the earliest AIT 1’s, to the last generation AIT, version 5.  

These helical scan drives use multiple read write heads to transfer data at a rapid rate.

Our trained AIT technicians have the skills and tools required to fully strip, rebuild and repair all the AIT range these small, but very complex storage devices.  The most common faults normally relate to the load mechanism, control motors, sometimes the read write heads themselves and the physical alignment of the tape data path.
